Great workout to end the week. I hope you all have a relaxing weekend that is not filled with junk food. If it would stop raining for a few days we could cook like we're meant to in the summer time - BBQ. Here is a great post with lots of ideas about barbecuing from Mark's Daily Apple. Sorry Meghan, I think it's mostly about meat, but BBQ tofu sure does sound yummy!
We won't be meeting on Monday. Enjoy your long weekend and get a workout in if you can. Here is a great list of workouts you can do anywhere with no equipment, so no excuses!
Post what you ate and how you avoided temptation over the weekend and any workouts you got in.
Ok, I was going to jog/walk around the lake my grandparents cabin is on this weekend, after all the running between wed/today I don't know if I feel inspired or done with running ;) It's exactly 5k around though, so I really want to see how I do. Wish me luck!
ReplyDeleteGood luck Amber!!! I missed you all this morning and went for a 15 mile bike ride which kicked my ass. (Honestly I planned 10 and got a little lost) Here is to trying to eat clean all weekend...think vodka not beer:)
ReplyDeleteSo this weekend so far, I've managed to eat pretty well. No grains. Lots of eggs, a few hot dogs, green veggies, salads, grilled shrimp, and more greens. A bit of fruit here and there, usually after being out for a walk. I did have a graham crackerless s'more (3 squares of chocolate and 2 toasted marshmallows) But with cookies, doritos, ice cream, and a thousand other temptations around, including good beer, I did pretty darn well. A few glasses of wine through the weekend, and my s'more. No run around the lake due to some rain/thunderstorms..next time :) I'll be working out tomorrow morning on my own and will see you all for Yoga Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteI was doing very well on the 1st 3 days of vacation and fell off Sun and today. Just got caught up with notes from the group and I start tomorrow on the 30 day paleo commitment. I loved Melissa Byer's log! That's the kinda tough talk that works for me! I'm so psyched for the accountability. See you all in the morning!
ReplyDeleteI did pretty well on both eating and working out, though the food changes are kicking my ass -- my body can't figure out what to do & the headaches, digestive funk, and constant cravings can't leave me soon enough -- I am eating more fruit than I oughta in an effort to leave behind the cereals and dairy that fueled so much of my energy before. I just don't love meat very much, so building every meal around protein isn't coming naturally.
ReplyDeleteDespite a weekend full of challenges (namely a bunch of relatives, a bunch of fancy restaurants, and a severe lack of time to do anything other than sit like a lump with my arthritic grandmother), the worst I did was have some wine with my dinners and only do a 15 minute workout.
I'm working on being proud of that instead of sulky that I didn't magically love the diet, get tons of workout time in, and you know, save the world somehow. =)
