Triple Digits

Devorah reflects on her first 2 months of CrossFit.

"Ten weeks in...I dead-lifted ONE HUNDRED pounds today! I was very proud of
myself, and was surprised, even shocked, to review in my journal that two
months ago, my first dead lift weight was twenty-five pounds and on that day
I wrote, "That was a bit challenging!" What a distance to have come in such
a short time. I feel myself getting stronger, telling myself more positive
things in my own mind, even when challenged (because NOW I know I can do
more than I ever think I can do!) and am enjoying feeling stronger in life
moments outside of the gym!

As far as nutrition goes, I have decided, for now anyway, to keep rice in
and basically take out all the rest of the grains (for the most part!) I
feel MUCH MUCH better without wheat, but know I do feel better when cutting
out all grains, as I did it for about a week or two a few weeks ago. I see
the nutrition part as going for it when I can, making better choices nearly
all the time, and allowing myself to ease into this new lifestyle rather
than slam myself. I know cutting out all grains and dairy feels GREAT and I
intend to take that on for at least a month, but just not yet. I know
myself: when the time is right for something more intense, I jump in whole
hog!
Kudos to all you ladies for being an inspiration for me..."
